RENTit Property Management is a small, independent company based in Auckland, offering exclusive property management services for both residential and commercial landlords.

We’re not interested in cutting corners or chasing volume. Most managers juggle 100 to 150 properties — we cap our residential portfolio at 50. That means better service, more time for each client, and a manager who actually knows your property.

Property management isn’t just about collecting rent. It’s about protecting your investment, supporting great tenancies, and making things easier for everyone involved. That’s why we take a personal, hands-on approach — with honest communication, clear systems, and care at every step.

The Story Behind RENTit Property Management

Hi, I’m Matt, the founder of RENTit Property Management.

For 25 years I worked in film and television production, managing international teams, complex logistics, and tight deadlines on big-budget projects. It was full-on, high-pressure work, and I was good at it. But over time, the joy faded. What I found myself really enjoying was managing properties for family and friends on the side, something I’d been doing for over a decade.

There’s a real sense of purpose in this work. Whether it’s helping a landlord protect their long-term investment or seeing the excitement on a tenant’s face when they’ve found the right home, that impact is real and lasting.

So I made the leap. I formalised my experience by completing the New Zealand Certificate in Residential Property Management (Level 4) and launched RENTit Property Management.

I’ve brought everything I learned from film — working under pressure, solving problems quickly, and using smart systems and technology — and channelled it into building a modern, efficient, and people-first property management company.

I believe in doing things properly. Clear communication, honesty, and reliability are at the heart of what I do. I treat every property like it’s my own and I’m passionate about helping landlords and tenants have the best experience possible.

To help me at RENTit, I’ve got Benji, our 1-year-old labraspoodle, by my side. He’s Head of Customer Satisfaction and Retention, and he takes that role very seriously.
